	Colkin de Varen, birthname Nicol Beaudoin, is the seneschal of Tybault de Teviot, the current majordomo of Montclair. A Cleyran of few words and meager military talent, his administrative skills were noticed by the former majordomo Guillaume de Bruma when the latter was visiting the lands of his birth for the funeral of [[Aubrey de Bruma\|his younger brother]]. Guillaume died shortly after bringing Colkin to court and was succeeded by Tybault who appointed Colkin as seneschal on grounds of not wanting the title, but not the responsibilities of majordomo as Tybault prefers to stay in his homeland of Deira to fight in the Elven Wars.
