Gooblin

Gooblins are a type of ooze which takes a form that resembles a monochrome goblin.

Theories

Despite its resemblance to a goblin, it is an ooze. The origin of the gooblin is unknown, but there are some theories on the matter, including:

Gooblins are the creation of a wizard for some unknown purpose
Gooblins are a form of mimic that inexplicably began mimicking the shape of a goblin
Gooblins are goblins who suffered a terrible magic related accident.
Gooblins are goblins whose natural metamorphic ability spontaneously went into overdrive until they detriorated into an amoeboid husk retaining only the superficial shape of their former selves.

It is currently unknown if there exist ooze monsters who take the form of other sapient creatures.
